Hey ladies, I'm still encapsulating if any of you would still like to book💗 I have very strict protocols in place. 1. No hospital pickup or drop off service, arrangements will be made with partner/hubby to meet, social distancing applies, I have strict procedures I follow at this time of contact. This arrangement may have to change as government recommendations are applied to isolation protocols. 2. If Covid-19 has been diagnosed or we have been in contact with someone for any of us within the 2 week period before your birth, this arrangement must be cancelled. A negative result must be obtained. It is your choice to take home and freeze your placenta if you've had to isolate. But this can only be done if you've not been diagnosed as positive to Covid-19. I heard recently that a business is claiming the placenta is safe to still encapsulate if sent to pathology for further testing. This is untrue and not safe at all. Firstly, there is no way we could guarantee that the placenta has been kept cold at required temperature while being examined which means bacteria starts to grow if left out of fridge for too long, which is dangerous for you to consume! Secondly, the placenta is likely in contact or washed with chemicals for examination, these in no way can be washed off, so you can encapsulate. Chemicals used will remain on the placenta, too unsafe to consume! These departments are not trained in placenta encapsulate safety and do not know required time and temperatures to keep. You however have a right to keep your placenta, unless infection is suspected or in the sad case of the loss of your baby. It's best to discuss with your doctor so they can take a smaller piece if its recommended to send for further testing and you can hold on to your placenta in a safe environment until you get the go ahead that encapsulating is safe for you to continue.
